Monitoring Customer Feedback on the Web

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 by Nikolas Severidt

bearhug-smallAs more and more businesses look to acquire customers via the web, it is equally important that businesses are communicating with their current customers on the web.  But how do you keep up with all the comments people are making on Facebook, Twitter, your Blog, and more?  It can become pretty overwhelming to try and monitor everything on your own, or even have someone do it for you.

Recently a new customer engagement platform was launched to help with this very problem.  Bearhug is a web-based customer service/feedback system that emphasizes building a collaborative relationship with customers rather than just managing support and feedback.

Bearhug’s dashboard consists of five different feature groups:

  • Pulse
  • Answers
  • First Rate
  • Overheard
  • Thinktank

Google Adds Calendar Invitations to Gmail Messages

Thursday, April 15th, 2010 by Nikolas Severidt

google-appsIf you’re a Gmail user, you may have noticed a new feature in your email account today.  You can now insert a calendar invitation directly into an email.

You can now schedule meetings and send invitations much easier than before.  If the person you are sending the invitation to has shared their calendar with you, Gmail will show that person’s availability at that particular time directly on your screen as shown below.  The system is not perfect and while some of the more robust email/calendar programs already offer this type of application, it does add a much needed feature for Gmail and Google calendar users.

5 Ways to Use Google Wave in Your Business

Sunday, March 14th, 2010 by Justin Severidt

google_wave_logo_finalWhen Google Wave was released last fall there was a lot of hype and anticipation.  When it finally came out and people began to use it there was a sense of disappointment and people really didn’t know how or why they should use Google Wave.  Recently Google Wave added some very helpful applications and have also added a tool for developers to add their own apps, which will make Google Wave much more useful as more and more apps become available for use.  When running a small business it can very difficult to stay on top of things going on throughout the day.  Using Google Wave can help you collaborate with many different people all at the same time.

Here are 5 examples from Mashable of common workplace activities that Google Wave can support.

  1. Conferences and Professional Development
  2. Decision Making and Problem Solving
  3. Project Management
  4. Brainstorming and Idea Cultivation
  5. Virtual Meetings and Less Travel

Below is a video from Google on using Wave.  If you are not able to view the embedded video, click here.
