Is Social Media Advertising Effective?

Monday, July 12th, 2010 by Nikolas Severidt

effective-social-media-advertisingThe key to successful advertising is getting your product or service in front of people that are interested in it. This can be difficult, especially when you consider how eclectic some people are. However, with the increasing popularity of social media networks like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, people are willingly giving away their personal information. With this information, you can effectively reach people that are in need of what you have to offer. This is social media advertising, and it’s one of the most effective new ways of reaching potential customers in the least invasive way possible.

This extremely effective form of advertising is about to become the new standard. Think about how untargeted and ineffective television and magazine ads are. There are so many different types of people that will view your advertisement and each one of them has different interests. You still have to pay for each and every view though. However, with social media advertising, you can make sure that your ads are only seen by people that could be helped by your service or interested in what you are offering. That way you’re not interrupting their daily lives and you’re not getting in their face. You’re making yourself known and getting visibility where you need it.

Companies that are switching to social media advertising are starting to see how effective it truly is. Not only can you effectively control who will see what you have to offer, but you can also track whether or not the ads are effective as well. You can test out different advertisements and use whichever is the most effective. You might even be able to figure out what time of the day is the best time to advertise. Doing any of these things with traditional forms of advertising would be very difficult or next to impossible.

Overall, you will find that companies are going in a new direction and social media advertising is the reason. Basically, you have to do what is effective and what brings you more business. There has never been an easier, more effective way to do this that you can actually track and test than with social media networks.

Does Your Business Need A Social Media Consultant

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 by Nikolas Severidt

Searching for a Niche Group - Magnifying GlassThe Information Age is here to stay, and along with the myriad of other changes that have taken place in our society, the permanence of social media and social networking has now become evident.  Social media networks and applications have changed the way that people communicate, the way they learn about products, the way they make decisions, and the way that business in general is conducted across nearly all industries. It is more important than ever for businesses to use social media to reach out in their marketing and promotion schemes.  Whereas five or ten years ago, a social media presence was somewhat optional, and was seen as “extra” in marketing, today, it is vital to gaining and retaining new customers.  What should a business owner do to maximize his or her social media presence?  One way to accomplish this goal is to use social media consultants.

Social media consultants take a company’s overall marketing and brand promotion strategy, and incorporate social media services into the marketing and advertising that the company uses. In some cases, a consultant will develop an entirely new promotion strategy. Sometimes, the existing plan is simply tweaked. Consultants optimize a company’s message, website, and content for maximum exposure.  This includes the all important function of search engine optimization and providing or changing content. Content can include various forms of marketing materials including press releases and articles. Consultants will monitor traffic on websites and other social media and report on the most successful strategies.  All in all, these strategies, among others, result in increased revenues for the company, and hopefully, increased profits.

One of the great advantages of using social media consultants, especially for small companies, is that outsourcing these all important tasks is very cost effective.  The company does not have to hire another employee, nor waste the valuable time of another employee on a potentially unfamiliar area. The tasks of a consultant are not quickly learned, so experience is important.  In the competitive world of social media, a sub par job simply will not do. This makes it very important to choose a consultant who will execute the job with excellence and who can demonstrate a history of quality results.

5 Mistakes Businesses Make with Twitter

Sunday, January 31st, 2010 by Justin Severidt

As more and more businesses are using Twitter as a means of advertising, there are a few things that must be done to ensure that businesses are getting the most out of their Twitter account.

Below are 5 ways businesses are not using Twitter well from Paul Kwiatkowski Blog.  To see the 5 ways in detail make sure you check out the post by clicking on the link above.

1.  Your business doesn’t have a customized profile

2.  You aren’t following people

3.  You only promote your business

4.  Your profile has no way for anyone to contact you

5.  You have nowhere else for people to go, i.e. a website

Just like with anything you want your Twitter profile to be branded.  This is just one more extension of your business and it should be treated like one.  You wouldn’t want a business card with clouds on it and no logo or contact information, so why would you accept that as your Twitter profile.  People want relevant information and they don’t want to hear businesses or people talk only about themselves, so listen, respond and join the conversation.  You will be pleasantly surprised at the immediate impact Twitter can have on your business.
